The nine-year-old is running through the house in sleeper PJs wearing a bandana across her face in classic western bandit style throwing down duplo blocks as caltrops being chased by the seven-year-old who is wearing a tutu and carrying a NERF dart gun.

Omnipotence
In Faith on December 4, 2010 at 8:46 am“By the mere exercise of His will, God produces whatever He wills. That’s omnipotence.”
(David C. Needham, “Close to His Majesty”, p. 19)
Benchwarmers to First Stringers
In Church on November 5, 2010 at 10:59 amMy current project. This is merely a title for a massive work here at FBCH.
Benchwarmers to First Stringers
An organized approach to transforming spectators into ministers.
Keeping in mind that I am still in the brainstorm phase of this project and the title may not make the cut.
Notes from the Daily Reading
In Scripture on November 2, 2010 at 4:34 amGod is mightier than the seeming chaos of our lives. When things are falling apart, trust Him and remember that He is still in control.
The punishment here is not simply because a group of boys teased Eljisha for being bald. Rather they were mocking a prophet of God which was tantamount to mocking God himself. Two other items must also be noted: 1) Bethel was the center of Israel’s apostasy. As such these boys had no respect for God or his prophets. 2) The passage says “some small boys”. These may not have been young men, but they were old enough to be allowed to wander outside the city walls. There were also at least forty-two of them. That’s not what I call “some”. That’s a large number. So, basically, there was a gang of boys old enough to be out on their own. These posed a physical thread to not only Elisha, but other travelers as well.
Church Unity
In Church on February 6, 2010 at 5:09 amI appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.
1 Corinthians 1:10
The church needs to agree both to purpose and process.
